3、stand 譯為 “忍受”
can't stand sth./doing 受不了...

sit 在初中階段只需要掌握其兩種意思：
1、sit 譯為 “坐 ， 坐下”
用法與stand基本一致 ， sit + 介詞短語
sit down 坐下
sit by the window 坐在窗戶邊
sit on the chair 坐在椅子上
sit still 坐著不動
May I sit here？ 我能坐這里嗎？
2、sit 譯為 “坐落于 ， 位于”
此延伸含義也通常出現在閱讀題型之中 ， 需要靈活變通；
A box sits on the shelf.
一個盒子在書架上 。
The mountain sits behind the village.
大山位于這個村子的后面 。
seat 為名詞 “座位”
