PORTUGAL and SPAIN - IRTA has made public the first technical results from the recently created BDporc Portugal (Portuguese Swine Reference Database), corresponding to the period from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015. Twenty-one companies attached to the BDPorc System were analysed and 9,446 breeders were counted.The BDporc-P System was created in 2015 on the initiative of IRTA and the FPAS (Federaao Portuguesas de Associaoes de Suinicultores).It is a service for the swine sector, whose primary aim is to provide reference information to pig production companies to help improve decision-making.
